I would like to fish Bayou Gauche but don't know where to launch and if there is any place in the area to get some shiners. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shiners and tackle @ Xpress on hwy. 90. Launch at bar on Bayou Gauche road or at the end of road. I prefer the end as the bar launch is extremely steep. Also launch at Des Allmand under bridge not a bad run. Water is chocolate milk there right now went Monday. Good luck

What 'I Deliver' stated is exactly would I would have said.

I will give you another tip--get to Xpress a little early. Their inventory is a little addictive. Seems like a little store, but there is a large selective of tackle to view.

Also, if you are a bow hunting junkie, you will love the store and range.

Has anyone ever caught redfish there before? I was told that you can catch a wide variety of species there. Just curious if reds are plentiful or maybe catching one per trip and more of a bad spot. Thanks

Bayou Gauche is just a bayou off of bayou des allamands...I have caught redfish by the des allamands bridge...Its just a matter of time of year and rainfall...When you launch in bayou gauche you basically can take bayou des allamands south and fish salvador management area or amerada hess freshwater or go to lake salvadore and fish fresh or salt depending on time of year....You can also cross lake salvadore and fish lafitte.....
