March 6th freezing cold winds blowing 10mph. We set out to do the annual Lake Verret fishing trip. We got out late Friday night ran the boat to the middle of the lake and cut the engine let it drift dropping jugs ever 50 yards. Waked the next morning pull up to the first jug had a 4lbs fish, ran about 20 nothing they not biting. Finally we see one 100yards out of line with our jugs were we that drunk? Itís not moving we will get it later pass the rest to catch 5 more good 4-5 lbs fish not good sign. Well we double back to pick up the out of line jug and sucker rolls over all we saw was the tail! Talk about a fun catch 65lbs Blue cat.

Awesome fish, too bad they aren't very good eating when they get that big...Going put a few jugs out this weekend, hope to catch a few.

'The only people that say small cats eat better are the ones that have never caught a big one and tried it.'
The big ones eat just as good as the small ones. I'd much rather catch and clean one 50 pounder than ten 5 pounders.

Use to think the big one were bad too. My neighbor is a fisherman and told me otherwise. Ate a forty pounder and it was the same as the small ones. That is a big cat.
