All to your self if you want to crab. The Wild life management areas don't allow crab traps so with set net you can catch 12doz. Use to take my sons to the Bason landing and catch some great crabs with nets.

what are you refering to as Bason landing? havent heard of that yet, is that in the decade area? we planned on launching and spending the night at a camp down there with a buddy and planned on crabbing while they fished.

Bason is in Larosse La. in the middle of the PChien wild life management area.

Bason is in west cutoff, not larose, no WMA in Larose, PERIOD, PAC, starts near Basons. besides, the question is for LAKE DECADE.looks like someone is trying to miss lead the question !,

the damm's across decade are a good spot, right now fishing is great there, crabs are on again and off again, Fresh season will start soon.
good luck

Thanks for the info, yea we will just try to catch 3 dozen or so, we plan on searching for trout and reds as well but the kids are deadset on dropping the crab nets over for a bit. hopefully the weather cooperates saturday and we can find some fish.

Bayou Racacci. Try Bayou Racacci for fat crabs. The ones you catch by the dams in Jug lake are usually skinny. Much fatter crabs in Bayou Racacci. Just drop nets about 20 feet from right bank in the big curves. lots of current there too.
