Surf fishing

Reply
I am looking to take my fiancé to Grand Isle to catch some trout either Sunday or next weekend. She has never been before, or has ever caught a trout or redfish in her life. I haven't been in about 5 years. Just curious if they are running well in the surf yet and for any tips/advice yall can give to help me make her first trip memorative and successful. Thanks guys

Thanks buddy. If I remember correctly, a sw wind is ok and a se wind is a no go. Also don't want the wind over 10? Is that right or no?

just fished elmers island yesterday morning, the trout are stacked in there right now. live shrimp wasnt doing too well from what I saw, a fellow was soaking live croakers next to me, had 1 hit. I was throwing some corkies and mirrolure51/52 red n white and ended up bagging 16 fish in the 18+ inch range. Lost another 6 trying to grab them. the bite would be on then tuen off for 20 minutes. The cleaner the water the better you will do from what I saw.
