The Rip has been beautiful the last two weeks; it was approximately 30-50 miles depending on direction. The first week we hammered 125 dolphins with some large bulls, most fish were caught on cut bait, we cast netted live mullet beforehand and it seemed to produce the big bulls. The second weekend was the same story, had a crew from work and it was their first experience to see a rip. The crew ended up leaving the dock at 9:00am, for some reason GI was had to find, but ended the day slaughtering some nice fish. The rip has been saving the day as mangroves have been finicky and we been catching a few cobia if a shrimp boat was in the area. Word to the wise, the seas were great all day Friday until I pointed the boat north, we took a straight up Louisiana style but$$$ kicking heading in. Be back in two weeks for some more offshore action.
