Just got my pro hunter

Reply
I FINALLY got a 35 whelen barrel for my pro hunter. It's the 28 inch stainless fluted model. I'm wondering if anyone has this same model and ammo they find is the most accurate? I'm leaning toward the 180 gr fusions, as I've had good luck with them in my 270.

I have the same gun & barrel. I shoot the Barns Vortex 180 gr. groups in 3' @ 100 yards. This was the best of 3 shells I tried. Most of the time I use my 35 when hunting from ladders, lock on's & climbers, so most of my shots are under 100 yards.

Thank you for the reply. I have done a good bit of research on 35 whelen ammo, and it just so happens a local gun shop has the Barnes 180 grain in stock. It sounds like you an me hunt the same sort of environment. The only other ammo I was considering was the Fusions. Thanks again.

I shoot the Barnes also. I shoot the 180 grain TTSX. My gun shoots 1' groups at 100 yards. They also leave a very good blood trail.
