Looking Forward and Looking Back

Let me start by saying I understand the frustration that most are expressing about the season dates, I have mixed feelings myself. There will be time to continue to voice our opinions and I thank Larry R. for all the work he has done. (By the way Larry, I would love for you to join us on a hunt sometime). All I know is that at this point all we can do is start to get pumped up about our opening day, whenever it may fall. Let's make this thread one to share the good times from last season. Share your best stories and pics so that we can all remember what a great season we enjoyed last year. Above are pics of my favorite sunrise, my favorite pic from the blind and my favorite post hunt pic. Good luck to all as we start the countdown to legal shooting time!

Here is a pic from one of my favorite hunts last year. I did not have a guided hunt so I hunted with my dad, my brother and his son. It was a downpour at sunrise so we stayed under cover at the boat shed and waited for the weather to clear. We got set up by 10:00 and finished at 1:00 with a four man limit of 15 greys, 4 teal, 2 mottled ducks, a pintail, a redhead, and a widgeon. Let's hear more details of you good times last year and see one pics!

Let's get some more pics and stories from seasons past. This is one of Peppers last hunts during 'throw back' weekend 2 seasons ago. We ditched the new camo and autos and hunted in old flannel, geans, and broke out the old double barrels. The next is my new puppy Steel. His first hunt last season. Notice the wink in his eye! It's getting close! Let's share more stories to help pass the time till we can pull the trigger!

One of my most memorable recent hunts with my dad, he is getting up in age and still has the drive to go. He doesn't get around as well as he did when he was younger but he still can shoot.

Awesome pics D Bottom. That is beautiful country up there. We make a hunt your way each year with the Duck Commander crew. Much different than our marsh hunting down here is SE La. Here is a pic from a hunt in your neck of the woods. Hope you and your dad have a great season!

That's what I'm talking about! I went gator hunting this morning and the amount of teal in the marsh did NOT get me too excited. Then I checked the LA Soprtsman reports and saw more pics added to this thread. Now this is getting me fired up! Keep them coming. I need my fix of pics and stories to help get me through the last few weeks before the season.

After the hunt meals are just as enjoyable as the hunts themselves. Can taste it already!
