The flounder spawn is on this time of year. Fish the back insdie flat of Caminada pass (Northwest corner) with minnows on the bottom, or slow tight line drag/bounce jig tipped with shrimp . If you can get on the sand bar of the pass that can also to very good. The last couple hours of the incoming tide and beginning of the fall are the best times to fish. Good luck and ARRIVE ALIVE!!!
The pass is full of reds as of yesterday, crab Carolina rig. The specks have started there journey north, and as of yesterday birds were working in little lake, and the rocks of deep bayou. Buddy of mine caught 34 nice trout before the wind. Safe trip.
The Camanada Redfish rodeo is this weekend, we will be there Thursday-Sunday, look for the guys in the blue Ludicrous Fishing Team shirts at the bar at Sand Dollar in the afternoons and come say hello..
We have a good crew heading that way this weekend as well but we are staying closer to bridgeside. Might have to come check out the festivities. Don't know where we are going to be fishing yet but looking forward to a fun weekend. Cheers
This time of year weather is the most important reason for a good or bad day. Suggest you hang around the marinas and believe me you will get all the info you need maybe more than you need. There is a new raised road and the old road is a great place to fish if the wind is up. This road runs form Leeville to GI and has numerous run outs and places to fish. If you can get live bait will be a plus in any fishing you do.
