Pier Fishing near Baton Rouge

Reply
I am looking for a fishing spot near Baton Rouge that has a pier. I have found some local places to fish from the land, but that is not suitable for my Dad, who is a little unsteady on his feet. He can manage from a chair on a pier just fine - if only I could locate one that allows public use. Anyone know of a place with a pier??

Waddill Park off of Flanery Road. Open Tuesday - Saturday. Has nice piers on the side of a nice pond. Lots of small bream to catch.

There's a pond outside of central, black water I believe it's called. It has about a 30 foot dock running down the edge of it.

Yes, the pier is at the BREC park on Blackwater Road. Almost as soon as you turn onto Blackwater from Hooper, it will be on your left.
Also, at the OneLife Church in Port Vincent as soon as you cross the Amite River bridge as you come into the round-about on your left, they have a pier you are allowed to fish from. Just have a valid LA fishing license in case LDWF officer stops by. ENJOY.

Along the levee road south of the interstate at the Raman exit there are several bridges that cross the bayou you can fish from. There is no traffic on the bridges because they all go to gated property. Good cat fishing.
