I'm looking for a little information from my fellow sportsman if possible. I'm looking at purchasing some property in Magnolia MS, which is in Pike County. Does any one have pros or cons about the area? Your input is greatly appreciated.
We have property in Pike County. Lots of nice deer, lots of hills. I don't get to hunt as much as I would like to, but work gets in the way. We have tons of deer on our property, I see tracks and rubs all over the place.
Location is not near as important as how property sits geographically and neighbors. It can be the most beautiful piece in world but if you have lots of homes around it or neighbors active on property lines it probably will disappoint you in deer production. A small piece of average land most anywhere surrounded by thickets or cutover with out dog hunting and few neighbors could be extremely productive. I would look for a piece that connects a lot of land together with few close neighbors without dog hunting close by.
