Humminbird Onix10 SI

Dear All,

We just bought a boat that had the Humminbird ONIX10 SI. I am looking for the E CARD, chip, or mapping card for the unit. I was looking to put the Standard Mapping LA ONE, but it is not compatible. I was told by Humminbird to go with either Navionics or Lake Masters.

Are there any others? If not, which of the two, Navionics or Lake Masters, should i go with and why?

FYI, i do not have an IPILOT, so the perk that one links up to the i pilot does not matter. If i get one, i can get a new card, if the other has better mapping.

Captain Paul's Response

I suggest that you go to a stocking Navionics dealer and view the two mapping programs for your self. I believe that the LAKE MASTERS primarily covers some of the lakes on the Bass tournament circuit. It has some of the many Louisiana lakes, but not all.
The Navionics program is designed from a NOAA Marine chart. It would show established marine channels in the area that it depicts.
As I Said, you will have to actually view what the maps look like and see if either covers your prime area.

You should be able to use either mapping program, but there usually no returns on this kind of software.

Re: Humminbird Onix10 SI
this is the reason that I prefer lowrance units for our area. Much better mapping options. I do believe the navionics platinum chip for the gulf coast provides satellite imagery overlay. you can visit navionics site there is an interactive map that can help you choose which location you need.
Re: Humminbird Onix10 SI
Thank you for the response. Personally, I like Garmin. However, the boat came with the unit installed. I am apprehensive to take out the unit and install a new one.

Thanks again.
