Kayak Help?

Reply
I am having a little difficulty with my kayak. I have scupper plugs in my kayak, but the last 3 times I have taken my kayak out, water has gotten into the kayak seat area and it also soaks my shorts. I'm not sure why it started doing this, but I want to fix, so I need a little help.

What type of plugs? Rubber or foam? I had some foam balls get some dry rot once and even though they completely plugged the hole after about an hour in the water they would leak. Water would start to seep through the ball itself. I replaced them and the leaking stopped. Also not all scupper holes are the same size are you sure you have the right plug.

Try going to academy and getting the Yak Gear Scupper Plugs. They are blue rubber scupper plugs that should fit any kayak. They work great. If that doesnt work your kayak may have a leak in it

I have rubber plugs. I took the kayak out last weekend and just put a towel under the seat and I stayed dry he whole time and the towel was just a little wet, but it looks like i'll just get new plugs eventually.
