Deer Candy Feed

Reply
All,

A friend of mine took a trip up to North Louisiana and was telling me about a bagged feed that is sold called 'Deer Candy'. Supposedly, the deer absolutely love it and will walk right by multi-flavored rice bran to get to this stuff. I hunt in Central Louisiana and have never heard of it.

Does anyone know what it is made of or if it is sold in South/Central Louisiana? Your comments are appreciated.

I hunt both area #2 and area #4 in South Louisiana and I must say this product drives the deer absolutely insane. The bags says roasted peanut butter flavored rice bran with cracked corn molasses and berry treats(god knows what the hell that is) and I must say from my own personal experience it is worth every penny. I've tried other flavored rice beans such as the well known 'mo buck' and persimen flavor but none even compare. My first time putting it out i put it out one evening before and counted 9 deer the very next morning! Want amazing to see deer find the food so fast and eat it as well. IMO buy it. What part of Louisiana are you in?

It is made out of Ruston Louisiana by a feed supplier. Oneils Farm and Garden. It is primarily corn and molasses. They also make some stuff called buck wild that has a peach scent and flavor that to me works better than the deer candy. The make a rice bran that is called Buck Crunch that works well also. If you call them they can probably tell you if they distribute to anywhere down south.

Honest mistake i’m sure, but a BIG ONE!

Deer Candy is made in Winnsboro LA by the guy that founded C’Mere Deer

Deer Kandy - totally different product is made by O’neal in Ruston!

I wouldn’t walk across the street to buy Deer Kandy but I’d drive an hour or two to get the original DEER CANDY which is also trademarked so I don’t know how O’neals gets by with using their name so Close???

Deer go so freaking insane over this stuff, they will eat all the dirt like a Mineral site where it was if you don’t re-apply quick enough, some guys say that have to run their deer off the bait site to put more out! It works wet or dry, drought or flood Deer are on it 24/7!!!

Let the trail camera tell ya what they want; i’ve tried’em all including homemade brews, nothing close to DEER CANDY that I’ve ever seen and know others that say the same!!!
