Any places around the basin I can take my little boy crawfishing from the bank? like off hwy 90 around houma or Morgan City? Or somewhere in that area i can launch with a short run in small 12' with outboard? Never been that way, other than driving through down 90. Normally we go in the bonnet carre, but it is hit or miss. Just want to make sure theres public access in that area before driving a hour and half.

Ebabin, when the water drops in the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area this spring it will be good for Crawfishing. You can drive into the swamp at old Hwy 11 in Pearl River to Crawfish from the bank or access the area via Davis landing or Crawford landing by boat. Its usually a very good area to Crawfish.

Thanks for the info. I used to squirrel hunt in the pearl wma on the opposite side of road from shooting range (take a right instead of the left for range). It got so thick in there after katrina I couldn't walk, and never went back. Have never been in there with a boat though.

South Farm near Ramah is the spot. Need an atv or bicycle to get from the parking to the ponds. Search South Farm on this forum. All questions have been answered.

Not yet. The 15th is when the usually open it. They used to open it April 1st but they have been backing it up the last few years. It is by far the coolest place to crawfish with young kids.

The 19th is the opening date. That's next Saturday. It may still be a little early in the season to do well there yet. I'm waiting at least 3 more weeks.

Hey guys. Anyone crawfish since this crazy flood? Pearl River, manchac, bc spillway. Any thoughts on if it will 'wash out the season'. Thanks
