Admiral, I think I can keep 10.
On a weekend trip means 20.
I can load the ice chest!!
I went to the Bend a few years back with a bass aficionado. Spent the weekend at the state park cabins. His truck, his boat, his fishing spots. I had to buy all new tackle because I quit bass fishing long ago. Stupid fish that's easy to catch. So at our first stop I use a 10 inch curly tail worm June bug color and start wailing on the bass. Catching 3 to my podnahs 1. He finally broke and asked quietly if I had some more. After I gave him one I was still out catching him.
At lunch we load the trailer and instead of eating he drives to this gas station/bait shop and talks to a guide there that convinces him he needs this $9 spinner bait. We get to the vehicle and I grab my tackle and take out a copy of the spinner bait he bought but I paid $0.98 out of a can't sell bin. He said his was better tuned. Uh huh.
I caught 5 to his 1. I told him mine must be really out of tune to get so much attention from these stupid fish.
Needless to say, I never got invited to go back to the Bend. He did catch his personal best bass at over 8 pounds that weekend. I had one larger that I broke off at the side of the boat. I just couldn't hurt my podnahs feelings by beating him with a larger fish. I wailed on him enough. Getting soft in my old age, not as vicious as I used to be. A mutual friend did tell me he was joking about my success with a 98 cent bait. We still fish salt water together.
