Headed to Pecan Island for the first offshore trip of the year. Heard a different noise that sounded like the road surface had changed. Pulled over at Little Prarie just to be safe before getting on a long stretch with no shoulder. Lucky I did. The lug nuts had come loose on one of my tires and caught it just before losing the whole tire. One lug was broken off and the others had eaten out the holes in the rim. Was able to put the spare on and make the trip. Could have been a major problem. Weather was excellent but catching was poor. Murky green water. Wound up with 3 Mangroves and 1 Trigger. No grass lines. Plenty of other boats in the 119, 124 Vermillion area. Didn't see anyone else catch a fish. Almost forgot. There was plenty of Bluefish to provide some line stretching. Went out to 164 Vermillion and nothing there but Red Snapper that had to be released. Wanted to target Tripletail but couldn't even find one log or piece of trash to fish. Great time on the water despite the lack of catching.
