Well depending on how close yall are you could

1 bring her with you

3 invite someone to go with you.....there are plenty of people on here that would go I am sure

She prolly doesn't have a clue where you are hunting even if you tell her the name. Plus, once night comes and your not home the panick will surely make her forget.

I hunt alone 99.99% of the time.I tell my Dad where I'm going (not married). I also keep an Eperb with me, if I was to break a leg in the swamp and I'm out of cell range, all I have to do is set that sucker off and the cost guard is on there way.
I have to admit, it does get a little spooky at times hunting alone but I don't feel like I'm in any danger with modern technology. Lastley, Don't be a die hard when you are alone, I hate it but sometimes I just can't hunt some areas because it is a little to risky.

My wife doesn't know E from W....I hunted or fished maybe 10 or 12 places...I made a rough map of each and sealed it in a marked envelope and kept them in a file...after we decided where we were going... I would put it under the alarm clock the night before...at least she could give it to someone that would understand it...(very few women can get verbal geographic directions right)...cheers

Most of the time I hunt alone using a boat, during the week on Public land and I seldom see anyone while in the woods.

Before I go, I tell my wife where I will be and I have marked the spots on a map. I have some friends that know these spots.

We have a Bag Phone, which always picks up a signal because they are higher wattage than cell phones. I bring this with me, unless She is travling somewhere that day. I call her when I am out of the woods after hunting to let her know when I will be home.

Every body coverd every as maps, phone, beeper and the one thing I didn't see was I mark the GPS readings on it and I try to leave my 10' flat to be seen from sky only.I also carry in my back pack a some mirror for flashiing,a small air horn(two of them one leave in boat),GPS,compus.

Dont spend all that money man...just show your wife where you park...get you one heck of a roll of string and away you go....she can follow it if you dont show up.

The Coast Guard suggests you file a float plan before getting underway. If you don't want to share that honey hole, pond, stand site etc with your friends or people at the launch then I would recommend you put a map with your likely route, hunting location and gps coordinates if you have them in an envelope in your truck. Maybe in the glove box or under the floor mat. Tell your wife it's there. One of the first things that happens on an overdue report is to check to see if your vehicle is still at the launch site. That way when the authorities go to check to see if your truck is still at launch all they have to do is pop the lock, look at your plan and know where to begin the search for you. I would recommend this even if you are hunting with someone because that someone may have been the person you would have relied on to come get you if you had broken down.

Hay DUCKHUNTER91 your right,I'm put some in my glovebox too.I do at time ask people to hunt with me but when I tell them what I go through they back out and say you can have it I'll take my walking out of camp 100yrds or so and that's it.I guess I like to hike and pull my little flat around at times.

Hope the cell works. I tell my wife if I'm hunting the wax, spillway, Maurepas, etc. Thats all she knows. Doesn't even know where the launch is at. Hopefully my buddies can track me down if I don't come home one night. Deer hunting almost always alone. Duck hunting never alone, too much work where I hunt for one man and to dangerous.

Be very careful! I AM within range of a tower so I have cell phone coverage but honestly I don't always take it with me. I am two hours away from home and if anything happens it will be many hours before I am missed. If something happens to me at noon I know I can not expect help to arrive till midnight at the earliest. Just be careful.

I hunt alone 3 hours away from home. What I suggest is Bring a cell phone, compass, good map of area, water, small first aid kit, and GPS with you when you go in the woods.

Lately I haven't been doing much hunting by myself....but have many times in the past... But.. somebody always knows where I am. I have friends and family that know all the places that I hunt... It isn't to often that I give specifics of the exact blind or stand that I'm going to be in but after a little searching they would find me...

I purchased a gps last year because I was planning on hunting managment areas in central louisiana...My plan was to give my wife the coordinates of the stands I was going to take... This is something I should have done...but didn't .. I always carry a cell phone also... but that GPS makes it easy... just give someone the cooridinates of the place your hunting. they or someone else should be able to find you without a problem.

YEAH IT WAS AND I SHOT HER AT ABOUT 10 AFTER 5

Here is a sure fire way for yall to NEVER DRAG AGAIN in the marsh.....

Just lasso one of those biting helicopters down there and tie it to the deer. The mosquito will fly it out for ya...
