Vibrio ruining our way of life

Reply
The flesh eating bacteria spreading along the gulf coast is threatening our way of life. Emergency procedures need to be implemented immediately. No doubt many camp sewers are dumping into our waterways. We've all seen it. Time for All Government agencies to conduct inspections of all camps near the water. Sounds like a huge task, but if each parish would dedicate 1 employee for inspections, it would be a start. This is not something we can delay. Speak up Sportsman before its too late.

Sounds like a good plan but as a kid I can remember when little woods had a ton of camps and no one had any protection and people were in the lake with no problem. PS NO also was putting raw trash in the lake through the canals.

Vibrio vulnificus is a naturally occurring bacteria that is found in brackish estuaries. It has always been in the water and it will always be in the water. It's not people's camps that are the issue. Now fecal coliform is from sewage from camps.
