Banana spider

Anybody else notice a near absence of banana spiders this year? Not that I mind as I HATE spiders, but just wonder if anyone else has noticed the same and if that is any indicator of anything out of balance in nature?

Funny you post this, as a few weeks ago I was riding around on my place just checking on things and ran into an area (low bottom) that was full of banana spiders. I had to stop the 4-wheeler and get off as they were all over me. I started laughing as this would have made a great move clip with someone with Arachnophobia! No shortage where I hunt, but good observation on your part. I wonder if anyone else has seen a decrease.

I went check cameras a month ago and had not seen that many in years. Even after the drive home I had at least 100 on my Ranger when I unloaded it.

I don't think they will be endangered any time soon !!!

Re: Banana spider
Saw plenty of them at my deer lease a few weeks ago when on my way to a stand site to set up a feeder. Been in this lease off and on for over 10 years and probably saw more that weekend than I can recall ever seeing on our lease. Keep in mind most of our lease is pines and you normally see banana spiders more in the bottomland/hardwood areas.
