Thanks to everyone helping with the catastrophe in Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I'd like to say thanks to everyone helping out with the rescue efforts. My daughter lives in Dutchtown and I spent last night with her hoping she wouldn't flood. She's one of the the lucky ones that made it through this unprecedented flood unscathed. I don't think the rest of the country even knows what south Louisiana is going through right now because they'd rather report about Milwaukee being burned or how hot it is in the Northeast. I know for a fact that several of the guides from down around Dularge canceled their trips and are rescuing people as we speak. Thank you guys!!!!

Nothing but Louisiana folks helping each other out. Prayers for all in need! Wish there was more we could do now. Hopefully in the coming weeks, we'll get that opportunity. God Bless you and your loved ones.

Ok, Louisiana sportsman guys, I know this is a fishing and hunting website but why is this moved to a back page where nobody will ever read it? This is as bad as headline news. I love this place but are you going to ignore a major event that affects so many people?

Kenny, I'm not sure what u are referring to? I moved your post up to the first category on the page - general. You put it under saltwater fishing reports. No harm intended. Actually trying to help out. Hope all is well.

I also made the report sticky, so it would stay at the top. First time I used this function. Did it not work?

The rest of the country is very much aware as to what lousiana is going through. Many of my people live in all parts of the country. They have all called me to see if i am ok. This is not just an event covered by locals. I have even heard them mention it on the Olympic coverage. Now how that translates into help remains to be seen. But they are definitely aware.

Tony, I'm sorry, I was out of line for my comment. I had been up 24 hours straight watching Baton Rouge local coverage and it was painful watching everyone flood. I apologize. I'm thankful my daughter's home was spared. Kenny

Kenny, no offense taken. I know how you are feeling. I've got 4 of my co-workers flooded and countless long time customers and friends that have either their home or business or both flooded. My dad lives in Grand Point in St. James Parish and they are not out of flood danger as of this morning. Just a horrible event. Please pray for all of the flood victims.

Best advise I can give you. I live in Sherwood Forest BR La. and have been there for 50 years no water on my street must less my house until this week. I was lucky to get out with no water but almost every one was no so lucky. BUY FLOOD INSURANCE IF YOU LIVE IN LOUISIANA CASE CLOSED.

I went up to Gramercy yesterday to help folks sandbag their homes and try to keep dry. Throwing those deals around ...is when you realize you are no longer in the shape you thought you were. Going to try some Demo skills tomorrow further north. Buying some Bengay first...
