Tchefuncte bass fishing

Reply
I will be heading to the Tchefuncte Sunday morning to give it a shot at bass fishing. Ive never been there before and looking at google maps I plan to hit the canals and cuts near the mouth of the river. Is this a good place to start? Any tips or advice for this area would be appreciated. See picture for areas I'm talking about.

I would go north, not south (unless someone can guarantee they are biting south). Plenty of points, pads, canals north. The Madisonville launch is not the best in the world. Parking can be a problem ir you plan to use that launch.

I did plan to use that launch and stay around that area. What other launches are there around? Where I don't have to worry about crowed parking. Because last time I went to a crowded launch (lake verret launch) some jackass hit my trailer and tore my tail lights and license plate off

There is a launch farther down the river on the west bank, near the lake. There also is a launch out of Covington, the 4th street launch. This launch is on the Bogue Falaya River, just north of I-12. When crossing on I-12, looking north, the Tfunky is the river to the left. Bogue Falaya River is on the right.

What about T river bar just before the public launch? Does that get really crowded?

Never been there. No idea what it is like. I launch 90% of the time out of the 4th street launch. .
