Teal season over before it starts

Looks like I'll hang the boots up for teal season. Just no teal on my leases. Killed 3 this morning and saw very few. I guess our time was coming because we have been hammering them the past 4 seasons even when others were slow. On to fall fishing.

What area do you hunt in?

Glad to read on the front page of this site that Larry Reynolds of LDWF was considering pushing back the teal season. Just too danged hot, mosquitos, alligators, etc.

Yes. Let's all support a later teal season. What is one weekend day if we have the possibility of better hunting?

I agree. We need a later start next year. Give up a Sunday for a great Saturday.

100% in favor of later teal season

I reviewed all the teal season regulations, and we set that exact season: Sept. 15-30, opening on a Friday and closing on a Saturday in 2000 and 2006, when the calendar has fell the way it does in 2017 AND we had a 16-day teal season. Never a problem opening too early when we only have 9 days, and no way I'm losing a weekend for a later season with the short teal season. But it looks like we have compromised the last Sunday to get a 6 day later season multiple times in the past with a 16-day teal season.

100% in favor of a later season but be careful of what you ask for! Many have been asking for a later start to the regular season and low and behold against Mr Reynolds recommendation the board voted to make it earlier. Just sayin.
