Indian Bayou Hunting Permit

Reply
Hey guys I need your help. My 12 year old nephew wants to go hunting with me tomorrow morning and I am not sure if he needs a permit or not. Tried calling The Army Corp. of Engineers in Port Barre, but they are closed today. Does anyone know if he needs one?

All hunters (16 years of age and older) are required to have on their person a pictured I.D.
verifying age and their current Indian Bayou permit.

But it also says, if you kill you have to cut the tag out. I would assume you still have to have a permit. I would rather be safe than sorry, since it is federal.

If that is a federal refuge you might want to check if he needs a hunting safety course card.I know when i used to hunt big branch federal reserve you had to have one even if you were under sixteen where as on a state management area you can hunt without a safety course card until you are sixteen and need it to buy a license.
