Sherburne Bow Hunting

Reply
I have been hitting Sherburne hard and not seeing anything at all...except for a doe and her fawn in a no hunt zone coming out. I mainly hunt off of big alabama near the atchafalaya wildlife refuge. Not looking for exact coordinates, but are there any areas i should move on to? This is my first bow season and really looking to put one in the freezer before firearm comes along.

Scout more. There are plenty deer and pigs in Sherburne. If you want to put one in the freezer, you're going to need to put in the work. Not many people are going to steer you to where they normally see deer.

I did a ton of preseason scouting and almost all my spots are around decent acorn drops, even better, they are white oaks. I just didnt know if the general area was worth my while. I have a lot of work put in to not see anything at all...

Went this morning off of Bayou Manuel Road and didn't see anything. Got down around noon to scout and fortunately found some oaks dropping acorns. This is my first season hunting Sherburne. Is it wise to push deeper in the woods as the season progresses and the pressure increases? Thanks and happy hunting to all.
