I have bought some hard to find rounds on line at www.midwayusa.com. Wide range of ammunition from just about every manufacturer there is, and their prices are better than local gun shops, even with shipping charges. And it is delivered right to your door. Earlier this year somebody was reporting that Lafayette Shooters had the Leverlution 30-30 rounds in stock for about $28 bucks a box, but they were selling out fast. I found them in stock at midwayusa for $18. Good luck.

Has 45/70 LeverEvolution in 325 grain for $24.95. Have them over-nighted and save yourself the travel time.

Yup, what Pigeon said. Santa Claus brought me a box for the old 30-30 from Cabela's.

Try Louisiana Archery on HWY 28E in Pineville. They are the only place I have found that has the 30/30 roounds in stock. Academy and everywhere else is always sold out. I paid 21.99 for 30/30

The only place I have been able to find them is online or at Bass Pro Shops. My advice is drive to Pearl or Houston or order them. You may give Simmons Sporting Goods a call, they may have them. I had to order mine from Bass Pro

After speaking to a friend who runs a gun shop/sporting goods store, there is a reason these bullets are hard to find. This is indicative of a problem with the cartridge not found during testing. There are probably more 30-30's in the field than any other gun in America. There would be advertising in every format coming out the wazoo and stacks of them at the local walmart and academy. They are not making it or holding back on the production for a reason. I am sure there are hunters that have had good success with the one's they were able to buy early. However, a cartridge discharging while in the magazine and not the barrel is a major concern. Good luck, but , please be careful. MY friend is an avid sportsman, gunshop owner 30+ yrs., and very concerned about this cartridge.

Again, good luck.

Your friend needs to get on the Marlin or Hornady website and read up on the extensive testing done on the LeverEvolution ammo prior to marketing. If they weren't safe neither marlin or Hornady would be in business very long for the law suits.

Try Nichols in Winnfield if you can't get them anywhere else. They carry a very good selection of bullets. 318 628-5028

No disrespect, but, there is a reason you can't buy them in Baton Rouge. Academy, Walmart, even the smaller specialty shop don't have them. All of these places carry Hornady. If they were available you wouldn't have guys asking for someone to let them know if they can find them anywhere in the state. They guy at the store would be telling you about the latest and great thing out and charging you handsomely for it. Hornady is not a mickey mouse operation. I am sure they could produce enough to keep a few boxes on the old shelf. Ask the gun shops how many times someone or some gunshop from out of state has called trying to find them.
I think you will be suprised.

I think time will prove this. The best way to avoid a lawsuit is not have any available on the shelf.

Best to luck to you in the woods.

The reason why it is hard to find the hornady leverevolution bullets is since Mississippi said we could use a 45/70 during muzzleloader everybody I know ran out to buy them. It is almost impossible to find a single shot 45/70around this area and even more difficult to the east. The guy we bought our gun from said there are no single actions were he buys from.

If you suspect a problem with the ammunition, go to hornady.com and look under product recalls. There is one lot only of 30/30 being recalled for being under loaded.
No problems with rounds going off in the magazine tube.
New products are slow to appear on shelves for two reasons.
Factory not committing to production till they see how early sales are and local dealers not stocking much till they see what the demand is.
Sounds like Big Bucks solved your problem. If not,
Good luck in your search.
