Guide recommendations

So I know most are going to say all guides are great and put you on fish. Just wanted to see if anyone had personal experience and recommended anyone in particular. Here's the situation:

Have two good buddies that I'm planning a trip for that are as obsessed with fishing as I am. Both retired military, one coming from Maine and the other from VA . My buddy from VA has yet to catch a red drum that's been on his bucket list. When my buddy that's now in Maine and I were both stationed in NC a couple years ago, we planned two separate trips for him to come down and put him on a redfish. Keep in mind, we both regularly catch redfish so we assumed both trips were easy no brainers. As luck would have it, both trips were a wash and our retired VA buddy gave up hope on us. I've since been keeping them updated on the sportsman's paradise that the Marine corps has graciously allowed me to spend my final two years at. That said, I told him this time I would do it right and pay for a guide to ensure (I know even guides can't guarantee fish, but here is as close as you can get) I get a red on the end of his line!

So with all that said, my the questions are:
1. Best time of year for reds (possibly for bulls as I've yet to haul one of those in!)
2. Best location (I live in Madisonville so the closer the better, preferably within a couple hours)
3. Any recommended guides. (Feel free to respond to my personal email if you don't want to respond in the forum) daniel.lafountain@yahoo.com

Guides feel free to respond too!

Thanks for any input!
