2 o'clock Bayou Area

Reply
Been looking for some new spots to try out and looking on the map I ran across 2 o'clock Bayou in Krotz Springs. It looks nice on the map, but does anyone have better knowledge of the area? Is it full of stumps or gets pretty skinny in places? Is it better to go North or South from the landing off Old 190 highway? Just looking for some general guidance. Planning on getting out there in the next few weeks. Thanks for any help.

It's pretty shallow and narrow, be carefull. I would recomend going south from 190. It opens up about a mile south.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I know i can get through about 1.5-2ft of water. I saw the Conway Bay and Close Lake areas on google maps but didn't know how it was getting there. It's water so I know fish are there just gotta find em and catch em. Hopefully the waters not dirty like Bayou Sorrel was this past Saturday.

Lil Alabama bayou in Sherburne WMA always has pretty water, good bass fishing and better bream fishing

I heard you need a wma tag to fish there. If that's the case do I get that from wildlife and fisheries or can you get that wherever you can get a license? I'm real unfamiliar with the whole wma thing.

anywhere you purchase a license you can get a wma tag

Thanks Thunderchicken. I'll probably wait til I renew my license to pick that up. I really want to start branching out from my usual fishing spots. I've heard decent things about Sherburne so I wouldnt mind trying it out.

Gotcha... 2 'o'clock is a good lil place to start on that end, also you have half moon which is east of 2 o'clock

Yeah I saw that one on the map too. Me and the kids are gonna ride out that way tomorrow to scout the launches in the area. Do they have sacalait out there or mostly bass/bream? Buddy wanted to get on some if they out there.

Yea they have sacalait but they are hard to find, but when you do find em you can catch a limit

Thunder. Me and the kids made it out that way yesterday to before the rain set in good. Even after all the rain overnight half moon was still some really good looking water. Talked with some guys at the launch who had their camper there and saw their kids reel in bream after bream off the bank. Nice size bream too. I think when we go I'm leaning toward the half moon bayou area. The launch is a little less pretty but what I saw I liked. Thanks for all the input.
