For bull reds to pull on: Buy several dozen live crabs. Cut them in half right down the middle and soak them in the passes. If nothing there, soak them in the smaller passes leading into the marshes on the northern side of the bays. For trout: good luck. It's transition time, and they are going to be hard to find. Burn gas until you find some good clean water (also good luck) with current and fish live croakers tight lined. The bait boat will most likely be 1/2 mile east of the navigational canal near rock island. Get there early if you want croakers. If the bait boat tells you he has 'offshore croakers' (which is all he's had lately) get shrimp and croakers and see what works best. Sometimes the croakers are just too big this time of year for Cocodrie trout. That said, the shrimp are going to mean removing a lot of pesky catfish from your hooks.
