Many outdoorsman have longed put their rod n reels up for the summer an headed for the hills or duck ponds. Football season also took it's toll on fishermen. Roscoe Lauve invited me to Grand Isle after our 1st cold front an went down an met him. The wind had been blowing 10 to 15mph out the northeast, keeping us at the camp. So we decided to head for the traditional lites at night we fished during the summer. The Caminada bridge, the lited public fishing warf, an the dock at Sanddollar were our targets of interest. Using Bobby Garlands Monkey Milk, Baby shad, Threadfin shad, Cajun cricket, & electric chicken on a 1/8 ounce jighead using a slow cast n retrieve. The first nite we kept 97, a mixture of white trout an a few legal speckle trout. The second nite we kept 130 white trout. We cleaned all of what we caught an made friends with a big fish fry.
