Baptiste Collette Public/Private Maps

I know this is a disputed topic every year, but could someone post a map of the School Board and Private Land parcels off Baptiste Collete and the surrounding areas. I have been seeing a lot of areas posted that are clearly marked as Plaquemines Parish Government Property on the Parish Assessors website. In today's world of GPS and smartphone maps, there is no reason that people could be 'accidentally poaching' because they didn't know the land was private or that people could have the ability to illegally post land that is public. I think that the more information that is out there the better. This will help both the landowners and public land hunters.

jds_123 just because the school board or parish owns it does not mean it is not leased to someone. The state GIS link shows you what is state land and water but that doesn't mean the state land /water is not leased... If you are seeing a posted sign it probably is.. signed.. someone who leases school board property.

And don't forget, just because you don't see posted signs that doesn't mean the land isn't leased. Private property does not need to be marked or have posted signs. Yes it is a lot easier for people to be made aware with signs, but ultimately it's the hunters responsibility to know what he is hunting and who the land is for.

Choupiques 16 and got a limit are correct. I have have maps of all Plaquemines Parish school board property from 15 years ago and a lot of it is now leased, including a certain area that I have hunted for close to 20 years. It is not the leasee or landowners responsibilty to post it as private, it is the hunters responsibility to know where he is. Not to be rude but If you don't know don't go. I would never go hunting a piece of land because someone told me it was public.

I was told by an employee at the tax assessors office that zero school board land in baptiste Colette was leased no mater what rumors were floating around. Either the employee or yall are giving bad info. I am sticking to the map I got two years ago and what the tax office employee told me. Now my map could be different from the one you had from 15 years ago but I would like to know the truth vs he said she said stuff.

I was also told the same thing, that the parish does not lease out school board or public land. Even land they lease out for mineral rights can not be subleased to others for hunting. Can anyone post a picture of there so called lease of school board or public land in baptist coulette
