Duck blind sunrise

Hunting has been a challenge this season with mixed results. Low duck numbers but have harvested a couple on most hunts. Have done well personally on geese with great numbers of geese in the area. Overall had great time with people I hunt with and enjoyed sunrises like this. Will chase a few more times then Turkey time.

Gotta agree with ya bout de extremely tough season and just started going through my detailed hunt-by-hunt analysis(why not thoroughly examine the results to see what I coulda done differently)and wanted to send along this very fine picture of NShore Marsh sunrise I took yesterday as I was patiently awaiting arrival of elusive ducks(they are showing up,just very late flying flocks of decent amounts of greys in un-disclosed locations)!!!I will never give up,even on this extremely challenging season and love my mid-week hunts,especially when all but the diehards give up,leaving me more of the NShore Marsh for folks like me!!!

Sunrise is defiantly my favorite time of the morning. Many shot opportunities have been missed while my back is turned to the decoys to take pics and admire the creators start of the day. Here are a couple from this year.

Proud Pop,Awesome Delacroix sunrise pics and wanted to send along yet another showing how icy we found conditions just this past Th hunting the NShore Marsh,such a gem right here in my backyard.Sent Mike Downie,Jr picture of fine lil Ringed Teal hen I recently shot and received a reply from none other than Larry Reynolds!!Think I might have found a few more and can't swear to it but this past Sunday saw what definitely appeared to be either two extremely dark mottled ducks or pair of true black ducks landing not that far from some mallard pot-holes I tried to hunt,thinking I was gonna out-fox de mallards(they never materialized)but I saw enough to guide my next few hunts and what I saw was worth hunting and dats about all I gonna say!!Hope you and your dad get a chance to experience many,many more incredible sunrises like those!!!Mine looks down on me from heaven and bet he is de one dat sent me true black duck few seasons ago and fine lil Ringed Teal hen,thanks Dad!!

Nothing like a sunrise in a southeast Louisiana marsh, I try to see as many as I can

Usually take at least one sunrise pic each hunt(Wifey has one of my most memorable shots as screen saver)but lately have been launching tad later to take advantage of what I have been experiencing about every year for the past twenty-much,much later flights,at least of greys and mallards and often have incredible opportunities just shade before noon-guess ya gotta out-pattern ducks vs other way around.Wished we coulda accessed mallard-central spot I hunted past few days but ridiculously low water prevented even a valliant attempt(had I been solo might have busted it to get on 'X')!!

My favorite part of the morning is definitely just before sunrise. While I was photographing the decoys and appreciating the makers' early-morning efforts, I frequently missed shooting opportunities. I'll share this to Austin newborn photographer for additional inspiration.
