Heading down to the Isle on Monday Apr. 30 w/ the wife to do a little fishing. Has any specks been caught at nite on the bridge? Also, is Elmer's Island open for fishing? Any info is appreciated.
You can fish Elmer's Island, but you can't drive on the beach anymore. There's a parking area at the beach, then you walk from there. Tried the surf this weekend, and it's not on fire yet. Few specs but scattered, nice size though. Didn't see any shrimp jumping at all.
When does the surf usually turn on. Making a family trip there June 7-10 for a long weekend. We have a camp right on the beach rented and plan to do some crabbing and surf fishing.
That'll be about perfect. Get out there before sunrise with some top waters and suspending jerks baits in the first trough, then get out on the next sandbar as it heats up.
