Another week of Trout and Reds

Site Sponsor
Coach Rodney Guin and crew were back with me with again. The plan was for trout and the plan came together! Things looked grim first thing in the morning with rough seas and not much going on. I took a gamble and moved to a area that hasn't been producing and hit the mother load!! We had 18-20 inch trout coming in 1-2 at a time on our double rigged Matrix Shad. It was fish on, as the big girls were flying over the gunnels. What a blast!!! Big smiles on everyone's faces as it's always fun fishing with these guys.

Day two with Coach Guin and crew had us red fishing. We found a very slow grinding bite most of the morning. We picked up seven reds at one of our last stop drifting a bank, with shrimp under a #fourhorseman cork and on Green Hornet #matrixshad with a gold spinner. Great two days fishing with these guys. Thanks to Capt T Lovell for running the second boat both days.

Trampas Amadee and crew were back with us today. With the winds up we decided to stick with red fishing. I started out in a very shallow pond and got off to a good start. We could see the reds waking all around and could cast right to them. We hooked seven and boated six of them. We made a quick move and within minutes had hooked two more. With the winds calming down we decided to make a run for trout. Well that didn't pan out so we came back to red fishing. We grinded them out and finished with sixteen reds all on spinner baits with green hornet #matrixshad. It was a fun time with these guys. Thanks to Capt K Labat and Capt S.P. Whitney for taking care of my Gaiennie Lumber crew.

The Solenis crew joined me again on the Big Bluewave today. Too windy for trout so we went straight to the ponds and started pounding banks. With barely no tide movement we found a very slow bite. We casted to waking reds and they never even looked at our baits. We hooked a fish every so often, It was a grind for sure. Our last stop we soaked shrimp on the bottom and caught some puppy drum. Thanks Capt T Miller for setting up the trip and Thanks to Capt J Broussard for taking care of Kerry Lawrence and family for me.

Dan Sullivan with Gaiennie Lumber crew fished with us once again. Another windy hot day fishing for reds. We started out in the shallows throwing spinner baits with #matrixshad and shrimp under a #fourhorseman cork. The morning started off slow so we went to a deep hole, soaking shrimp on the bottom. The pup drum started to fill the #k2cooler one by one. I told my crew that patience will prevail!! Once they put a three man limit together they decided to hit the ponds again to look for more reds. It was a good decision as we started to add the Golden 'gold fish' to the box. Big thanks to Capt K Labat and Capt C Lombard for running the other two boats and Capt J Broussard for taking care of Josh Droegemueller and family. All of our customers had a great time.
