Grand Isle/Elmer’s Conditions?

Reply
What’s the best conditions for fishing the surf in Grand Isle/Elmer’s Island when considering wind direction, tide, solunar tables, etc? If you can’t get all three right at the same time, which is very rare, what’s most important to you?

I fished Elmers this past weekend, that west wind killed the bite. Caught plenty of crabs though. I like a northerly even if it's a NW you can catch. A SE wind is good too if it's not howling...same with a south

GREAT, THANK YOU...the kids enjoy getting into the water and 'running' the two 150' lines with 25 baits on each! Especially, for 8-year olds, the 'adventure/thrill' of getting into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico (especially during SHARK WEEK) LOL, experiencing the unknown and capturing crabs from the water is captivating to all! Think about, this---how many people don't have the freedom of stepping into these waters---SO MANY LIFE-LONG LOUISIANA RESIDENTS have yet to just visit Grand Isle let alone walk into its' Gulf waters!!!! WE ARE SOO BLESSED AND PRIVILEGED (definitely not ENTITLED)...John Castelluccio, Jr.

Just checked THE WEATHER CHANNEL forecast for Grand Isle...FRIDAY: 40% Thunderstorms SW 5-10; SATURDAY: 40% Thunderstorms SW 5-10 AND SUNDAY: 20% STRAY Shower SW 5-10!

Like my dad used say...Predicted 5-10 mph---you add them up and get 15 mph!!! John Castelluccio, Jr.
