Go to places like firestone, goodyear, tire kingdom, etc. They usually keep the old wheel weights.Thats the ticket.

Empty a old car batt. out and take shell off of it...rinse off and put the lead in a tub with a 2 liter coke on it to eat the acid off for a day or two then rinse with warm soapy water real good. Ive done that for years for trotline weights and to melt down for sinkers

If you know any roofers get with them. Most of the vents you see on rooves are lead.

My roofer ends up with about a hundred pounds a month. He saves it in a recycle bin. He gives it to a few of us who use it in swaging bullets. I used it to fill the custom front bumper on my new tractor rather than havind big tractor weights sticking out there. Most any roofer would be happy to save you some, a 12 pack of beer might clinch the deal. Wheel weights have alot of tin in them and don't expand as well for bullets and the weights aren't as consistent.
