Brec bass fishing

I dont know how many people read these reports or how many live in baton rouge that fish the brec park ponds. But I wanted to see who might chime in on a question I have. I fish the parks in baton rouge, probably just as much or more than I fish out of a boat. And when fishing out of a boat in a public waterway or fishing in the ponds around town I throw back the bass I catch. My question is what do you think about the people that go fish a public park and fill their stringer or ice chest with fish out of the public ponds? I realize it's a public resource but really? What do yall think?

I think that's the reason why me and my kids never catch anything at brec ponds. Because as Soon as it's stocked u get someone out fishing it ruining it for everyone else, but it's public so wut can u do? They actually put a sign with a limit of wut fish u can keep at the one in central by the ball park but a bunch of local kids got caught keeping fish at night with a cast net.

The central pond by the ballpark is the one I fish the most. And there are a few regulars I see that keep fish when they catch them. And the deal with the cast net is a shame. I saw a guy at the Sherwood forest park walk around the entire pond throwing a cast net. It's a shame to see that. Especially for the people that just enjoy going to catch a few.

I only keep the trout they stock in the winter time.

Yeah, I've kept a few of the trout years back. Didnt really care for the taste... fun to catch though.
