The large population of hogs on the Atchafalaya Delta WMA is very evident. Seeing hogs and hog sign on the peripheral islands has been common for a long time, but in the past few years they are really taking hold on Big Island. On a recent scouting trip I watched this big hog rooting at 10:30 am. You can see the damage being done as they root around. That said I have yet to take a hog on Big Island. I have taken many on the smaller islands. Maybe this will be the season to get my first one there.
