You’re not looking in the right place. Big ducks showing up in good numbers this early in season on AR/LA line at Jones, La/Wilmot Ar

Seen a fair amount of blue wings and grays in the marshes south of Houma seems every pothole had some ducks getting up looks like the teal showed up

Lacombe buddy of mine advised that he has seen some very nice flocks of blue wings, wished they had gotten de message dat dey needed to be hanging around about a month ago!!!Getting some work done on my antique Chapman pirogue, believe she might be one of the first Ron Chapman made(bought her in about 1982)and she might be a tad heavier than the newer models but floats just fine and with pressure-treated custom-made gunwales, she should be good for bout another 20 years or so!!Got fishing rodeo this Sat and hope to scare up some specks and reds!!

Made a trip to duck lease in far SW Terrebone parish. Saw several nice flocks of greys moving round and what appeared to be a few mallards also. A lot of smaller groups of greys and pairs also, and a few gw teal to boot. Low tide revealed Tons of redfish in the marsh & canals.

Unfortunately(or fortunately, depending upon one's perspective),I have been unable to do any scouting but hope to rectify that asap.Hope the local marshes start coming alive and something tells me all the ingredients again in place-no tropical storms to destroy SAV,plenty of feed, feed, more feed, just hope for a few nice fronts to nudge the birds along!!Gonna stalk some tree rats tomorrow am and hopefully get a chance to do some marsh fishing/duck scouting soon and hope for the best.Have not checked out the Sportsman article on Public Land Hunting but we are Public/Federal land warriors and could write a book about how we do it!!!
