I have not seen any updates. The story was not widely covered. I've seen NO local news coverage. The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office has nothing on their page.
I got the original info from a friend hunting down that way. I saw a news story out of Jackson Mississippi of all places yesterday that said the missing guy fell from a ship, but that his two shipmates swam to shore. It definitely was not a ship but a duck hunting boat. I've posted the info I could find, but is has been difficult to obtain and as far as I know, they are no longer actively searching.
WJTV Jackson, MS
'The United States Coast Guard has dispatched a fleet of response vessels in search of a 27-year-old man who was aboard a ship that sank near Fort Jackson, Louisiana at sunrise Saturday.
Officials say that watch standers at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call for help at 5:41 a.m.
The vessel with three people aboard was “taking on water, near mile marker 20 on the Mississippi River,†a press release said.
The boat sank and two of the three people aboard were able to swim to shore, but the 27-year-old man did not.
His name is not yet known. His shipmates say he was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket.'
