Chute em,they actually are not that bad and I doctored one up a few years ago,soaking it in salted water for a few days to get the fishy taste out and once I stir-fried dat lil jewel,tasted like a teal.Kinda wish we had ducks of any kind where we hunt(there are a few small,scattered groups of decent ducks way E of where I hunt but I hate chasing shots and crowding folks,especially on Public Land/Federal Land)and once I finally get flat back hope to chase much more desirable species like fine mallards and know where they hang out,just not feasible to try to paddle in to where they hang out!!
PS Do not try eating a doggone hooded merganser!!!
