Louisiana Sportsman Articles

I have to call it like I see it. Why are Louisiana Sportsman articles so lacking in credible knowledge and experience? I read this article by Glynn Harris about a deer killed in Concordia parish and he writes about 'planted CRP'. That is the exact opposite definition of the function of Conservation Reserve Program acreage. This is very simple information and it's free on the internet.
And then there's this Apex Predator joke that continues to write about sprinting through the woods with a firearm. Anyone who has been taught to hunt or spend time in the woods by anyone with any degree of intelligence would never do this. It's a stupid thing to do to say the least. This guy acts like he just got into hunting a few years ago and puts out terrible and impractical stories. 'To each their own, right?' No. Incorrect. There's no need to continue this ineptitude. Read, learn and take pride in being responsible and intelligent. Louisiana Sportsman needs to raise the bar.

I agree 100% with sprinting thru the woods. Your asking to get shot ,just a matter of time. Any management area you go on it's possible for someone to come the other way. Just think of it . A hunter or young boy never shot a deer sitting in his stand and all of a sudden a doe and yearling hauls it in front of them . Then hear something coming gets excited pulls up the gun figuring soon as it clears the thicket its down. Yea they would be wrong for not identifying target but because you choose to run thru the woods on a doe day ,,,YOU DEAD.......

I agree too! But, there are only two reasons to run in the woods... the rougarou is chasing you or you gotta poo! Sometimes the combination of both! Running with a loaded gun giving chase to game is not a good idea! If this guy don't hurt himself or someone else, it's possible that one of our young readers of his adventures/shenanigans might try the same thing and hurt themselves...

Just saying....

Damn......jealous much. Read a little better. He doesn't run with a loaded gun cocked, finger on the trigger and pointed at his head or whatever else your mind thinks. Broke down in a back pack. Yes he runs......he's a f$#@in athlete. If someone takes a shot at him, I would hope he returns fire and hits true. Those are the ones we don't want out there, shooting at movement.
If someone reads it and tries to run with a loaded gun.....daddy didn't teach them better. Hell, I had seen someone jump into a bayou after a gator.....but I didn't. Common sense goes a long ways.
