Captain Bob Leeville Report

Hello again Cyber Anglers,

Fished out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville this past Sunday and Monday and got into the Redfish and Gnats.

Sunday greeted us with a light, decreasing, northeast wind. Water was extremely low after the frontal passage and following 30 knot Northerly winds blew all the water out. I carefully idled out and entered the SouthTexaco field. Mud flats and oyster beds were exposed everywhere and I had a hard time getting my 24 foot Pathfinder into D’s Canal but it was worth the effort.

D’s pond was almost dry and all of the Reds were stacked up on the edge of the pond near the canal. You could see Reds waking and tailing and blocking on bait everywhere. I anchored up in the same spot where we had filmed the last episode of Between the Banks(1546) and quickly caught a limit of Reds and filmed episode 1547. All of our catch with the exception of one Red were caught on free swimming, large cocahoes over the oyster beds.

Monday was windless so the Gnats were horrible so I headed for open water in an effort to escape the aggravation. I ended up at Philo and again found Reds on both the north and south points again feasting on free swimming large cocahoes.

Episode 1547 is already up on my YouTube channel and will start on the television venues this weekend. It should also be up on betweenthebanks.com shortly. In the meantime good luck fishing...Bob

Wind humping again today and water is low. Should be no problem catching Reds. Need help fishing Lafourche or Leeville, check out Between the Banks for details. Last minute help on the BTB fishing line at 504.458.9451.
