That’s nice. What area would you recommend to sac a lait fish for a Gonzales area fisherman. I want to start learning to fish with my son? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not too familiar with the Gonzales area, my best guest is talk to some of the local bait shops in the area that sell live shiners, customers talk . They would be happy to steer you to the local canals or ponds that are catching right now. Now until the end of the month will start to heat up.

mule700,I likewise am not familiar with the Gonzales area but my suspicion would be that any areas that have lots of cypress trees along the banks should hold sac a lait getting ready to spawn and during spawn they are relatively easy to target in shallow water all along the banks in pretty much 3-5 ft of water using nothing more exotic than small tube jigs under slip cork, some folks simply use jigging poles without corks and just start jigging until they find the 'sweet spot' and proceed to load up!!!Was supposed to hit local spots in Bayou Lacombe this am but my buddy was not up to the early wake-up and I opted for non-productive Lake P sight-casting trip for reds!!

Awesome results!!Have only hit T-Funky once so far and we picked probably the windiest and coldest day to waste time but gonna head back real soon.I will never forget epic pirogue trip on T-Funky not that many years ago when I nabbed 6 fine bass with biggest shade under 5 lbs and had another shade under 3.5!!!Nice fish, indeed!!Headed to Honey Island Swamp with Medicare Client looking for some fat tree rats and possibly a hog or two!!
