Loads and chokes

Reply

Hey guys, I wanted to get some opinions. I know everyone has a different thought on chokes and loads. I am hoping to save a little time and money. I have a Remington 870 and looking to get the best performance from my loads and chokes. I know I will have to shoot it to truly find the best results, but any help is appreciated. I have a Rem xxfull turkey choke, Indian Creek, and Jelly head. I have been shooting the hevishot magnum blend.

Would you mind sharing what you have had the best results with? Thanks

Jeb's headhunter choke with 3' Remington nitro turkey #5 shot = fried turkey everytime.
P.S. 660 constriction

Of the chokes you already own, the IC should be an .665 constriction with the JH .660. Magblends are harder to predict then straight 6's or 7's . The only way to know is to run a round or two thru each and count pellet holes. I've had better luck with Indian Creeks in mine, but every gun is different. I doubt you will see a dramatic difference between them.

Winchester Super X2, .675 Briley turkey choke and still have some 3.5' Winchester Xtended Range #6 shells. This combo will put 182 in a 10' circle at 40 yds. Sadly, Winchester has discontinued the Xtended Range shells.
