You will have very little luck looking for crabs on Lake Road. They are rarely on the road. Try looking in the water.

It's too early to crab, but even in the warm season it's sort of a waste of time. In the last ten years, the diversion zealots have used every opportunity to make our saltwater fishery fresher. Now, in the Lake P canals, all the crabs are very small (just nursery crabs). There is some better luck in the deeper waters of Chef Pass and the Wall, but you need a boat. Bottom line....crab from the road in St. Bernard or Grand Isle area, where the water is saltier.
