Where can I go to catch some flounder and what bait to use. Been fishing for a while and haven’t caught one yet. Fishing the grand isle, Leeville and Delacroix areas with no luck. Thanks

Re: Flounder
We used to see people catching them by the Elmer’s Island bridge. Not sure if they are still catching them there. We used to catch plenty at Elmer’s Island in the cuts but they have been scarce the last
few years.

Re: Flounder
Trout lady,Quite a few years ago, fishing for bass with Texas-rigged plastic worm, fishing the Parish Line Canal in Kenner, the very first fish I nabbed was a huge flounder, probably close to 3 lbs and as luck and fate would have it,the LAWLF folks were conducting creel surveys at the Williams Blvd boat launch and the Biologist conducting the survey advised that flounders spawn in spring, around this exact time, and they head to freshwater to spawn!!!Not saying that ya gonna catch flounders in Parish Line Canal at this time but ya never know. The doggone Spillway Opening is the wildcard and if I were to target flounders, think I would fine a spot with a sandy bottom(mm175 on Tresltes is flounder spot I have caught some big ones at)and bet some of the drains in all our marshes should hold some spawners, just a thought!!
