Duck Seasons Officially Set

I know for some of you it is too early to start thinking of duck season but for me it’s a year round passion. The seasons are officially set and its time to start booking hunting dates and scheduling work days to get ready for the ducks. I know last year was a relatively slow year for most but each year the excitement builds for another opportunity to sit in the blind and enjoy SE Louisiana’s greatness experience. My calendar is already filling up with choice dates. Here are the seasons dates for all you duck hunters who like to plan ahead.

DUCKS, COOTS AND MERGANSERS
COASTAL ZONE:
NOV. 2-3 (YOUTH ONLY)
NOV. 9-DEC. 8
DEC. 21-JAN. 19

WEST ZONE:
NOV. 9 (YOUTH ONLY)
NOV. 16 - DEC. 8
DEC. 21-JAN.26
FEB 1 (YOUTH ONLY)

EAST ZONE:
NOV. 16 (YOUTH ONLY)
NOV. 23-DEC. 8
DEC. 14-JAN. 26
FEB. 1 (YOUTH ONLY)

Time to start praying for a cold and dry Fall and Winter!
Enjoy your time in the water and stay safe!

Proud Pop,Thanks, again and hope to be chasing some dem teal rockets just to knock de rust off!!!They also are pretty dang tasty lil critters!!!Getting some cracks repaired on bottom of ole Southfork and she should be helping me chase some reds and specks real soon.Got some intel about where to seek specks on wakebaits,a lure variety I have never tried but they seem to work exceptionally well!!

you guys better stock up on ammo.with the historic flooding taking place all along the Missouri and Mississippi river systems I doubt there will be much so-called hot cropping going on and along with the rain thea lot of row crop farmers will be switching from corn to beans so we cant even short stop them with dry corn fields. the perfect storm good luck!

Lol Big John. I’ve been thinking about it year round for over 40 years. Still remember those hunts like they happened yesterday. I can’t even go fishing without making a run around all of our property checking out how the grass is growing on the shore around the blinds. Seeing if I can get another year out of a blind before it ends up in the water due to land loss. Looking for new locations to build the next blind. Monitoring the growth of the SAG. Checking out areas to cut brush for blinds as I make the drive from the North Shore to Delacroix and back. I even spend more time scanning the skies for a Mottled Duck than watching my line while fishing. In 3 short months, the first teal will begin to filter into the marsh. The first sight of any migratory ducks really kicks in the anticipation. Yes, some of us have it bad, but I’m sure y’all will agree that there nothing better to be so passionate about.
