After trading what seemed like a ton of texts and rescheduled trips, finally got with DeWizard7 to'Follow the Yellow Mouth Road' and using a variety of hard and soft plastics,no stinking shrimp,we managed a nice box of specks, few reds, black drum and doormat flounder. Thanks a million,Wizard7,de ole Mandevillian and his fishing 'Mafia' enjoyed not only ya company but advise on where to fish, what to throw, etc.Gonna get back with ya pronto for return visit and Buddy looking to possibly lease some ponds down there and he and I tough it out in Big Branch Marsh year after year, along with Bayoubob(expecting delivery of mighty-fine Lowes Roughneck 18 by 60 with 90 Yamaha on rear). Thanks to cell phones,my aluminum welder coming tomorrow to fix underside of ole Southfork and getting her back up and running soon in de plans.Best part of today's trip, besides your company,is that the trip only ran us $10 each,an extremely fine trip no doubt and guarantee ya we will be back.Probably gonna bring ya some fresh yard eggs, probably bunch of fine pork from huge pig my older son and I recently butchered and I know my Abita KC buddies feel like they made an awesome friend and fishing mentor. Can't thank ya enough and ya spots safe with us,especially since Buddy has no earthly idea how to use his Lowrance GPS/Fish Finder and even if it did work, would be totally uncool to divulge ya spots just like I try to keep mine close to de vest, makes perfect sense to me.

Mandevillian,forever thankful

great catch !! was that delacroix, dularge. I'm all in agreement about fishing spots, but a general area is just general info.

I haven't caught a flounder in 3 years that I remember. i just don't understand it.

I won’t say the exact area where we were fishing, but I will say that it’s the water from Hopedale too Delacroix and in between, all you have to do is look at some old maps pre Katrina , look for land that’s now under water, points no longer sticking out, cuts along shore lines that now are 3 ft under water and you will find trout, reds and now and then some flounders, soft and hard plastics work every time ! And as I always say I don’t need any stinking shrimp to catch a fish, I met some great guys from across the pond and they love using plastic, like me

Yep,DeWizard knows where to seek fish and guess it aint rocket science, match the hatch, pay attention to tidal predictions coupled with general knowledge of the area ya fishing in and also factor in the wind speed and direction and ya get a great jump on most folks that may haphazardly fish vs what we did yesterday. With all the shrimp we saw jumping had we tossed live shrimp at these hungry fish,no doubt we may have mauled a few more but as DeWizard attests to,I love my soft plastics over any bait and have my favorite soft plastics and that changes quite a bit.I get lotta soft plastics on line, preferring to toss those vs what ya can find locally and guess what, specks seemed to devour what me and Buddy were tossing.Guess it pays to toss something different at em,just ask tournament bass fisherman if they all toss same lures everyone else uses.Think the bigger specks slammed the lures Buddy and I were tossing and DeWizard was nabbing plenty big specks as well with a lure made in LA,not Matrix Shad!!!Can't thank de Wizard enough and we plan many return trips-don't need no stinking shrimp!!!

Thanks for the reports. After checking out the pics you and Mandevillian been posting I'm thinking I know just about the area of where you been going. I've seen you at the launch and on the water plenty of times ( I think, you drive a maroon colored single cab dodge?) Lol, anyways I plan on going this Friday to see what I can find.
