Stationary Butterfly Net

Location location location...
How do I go about finding/leasing/buying land for a stationary butterfly net?
What licenses would I need?
Is it commercially profitable?
And on average, how much does something like this cost to start, build, and maintain?

Re: Stationary Butterfly Net
FreshwaterFletcher, I have one mounted on my pier in Lafitte and it is only good with a super falling tide and heavy north winds (mainly November and December). I am sure other locations might be different but in my case that is what it takes to make it worth me putting it out. You do need a license to run and maintain it, and I don’t know of anyone that would call it commercially profitable. Most of the guys I know that have them use them for personal/fun/recreational use. There might be areas I am not aware of that it would be profitable.
If all the conditions are perfect I can usually catch 100-200 pounds of shrimp in a night along with a lot of trash. lol That’s my 2 cents, hope it helps.

Yea from what I’m told it’s more trouble than what’s it’s worth. Regardless, I want to give it go. Thanks!
