Northshore Frogging

Reply
Looking for any Tips/advice/recommendations for frogging on the northshore. I live in the Madisonville area and looking to try something new while I have my duck boat at home. It’s a 18x60 CC gatortail. Thanks In advance for any information to help me get started.

Proud Pop,I have not done any NShore frogging in long time but educated guess would be to try Cane Bayou or possibly Maurepas Swamp or Joyce WMA areas. You might even try the Tchefuncte River area.Heard from a duck hunting buddy that they did well few years ago going down Cane Bayou. We hit Pearl River WMA many years ago and only caught one huge bullfrog but bet that area likewise has a few and know they love crawfish and Pearl River WMA used to be go-to spot for mudbugs.Good luck wherever ya head to!!

Thanks Mande, May have to make an evening fishing trip to Cane. Can fish from launch to lake until dark and scout for frogs on the way back in after dark. Will let you know what day I may go Incase you want to jump in.

Thanks!Been working my tail off getting ole Southfork ready for sight-casting to reds and hope mechanic gets back to me soon regarding total rebuild of lower unit.Lot less expensive than plunking down plenty coin for new motor and put Fasco 2-part epoxy on underside of Southfork, same stuff used on airboats, hope ole Southfork glides across water!!!Got front section of flooring riveted down today, used fine solid aluminum 1/4 inch rivets and will be laying down fine coat of Grizzly Grip later this week!!
